Post-dated cheques, the cheque book and bank reconciliation

The three banking screens that sit beside the vouchers.

Finance carries three banking screens: Post Dated Cheques, Cheque Book and Bank Reconciliation.

Post Dated Cheques

A PDC is a cheque held against a future date. The screen tracks it from receipt to clearance, with tabs across the six states: pending, deposited, cleared, returned, bounced and cancelled.

  1. Open Finance → Post Dated Cheques and press + Add Post Dated Cheque.
  2. Set Branch, Doc No, Year and Doc Date. The source assigns the document number automatically per year.
  3. Fill in Cheque No., Cheque Date and Cheque Amount.
  4. Pick the Party Code — the account the cheque relates to.
  5. Save. As the cheque moves, edit the row and change its status.
The list
  • Doc No · Cheque No · Party · Cheque Date · Amount · Voucher No · Status, with a month filter on the cheque date.

Cheque Book

The register of cheque stationery — which books you hold against which bank account, and which numbers they cover.

Bank Reconciliation

The screen for tying the ledger balance of a bank account back to its statement. The reporting side supports it too: the ledger reports carry Print Cleared and PDC options, and a Bank Code filter.
